Marshall Construction has partnered up with Net Zero International to meet our legal obligations to be Net Zero by the year 2050 and is now starting to measure our carbon footprint and implement plans to meet this target. As the months and years progress we will be looking to implement new procedures and adapt new ways of working, as technologies emerge and progress to help us meet our strategic goals.
This will be a slow process but the company is committed to helping the environment and persuading our supply chain to also become more carbon aware and join us on the journey to Net Zero as it will be a legal obligation for all businesses.
We have completed the report of our activities for the Reporting Period August 2022 – July 2023 using the Operational Control Approach.
Emissions from Scope 1 and 2 have been measured along with certain Scope 3 emissions. The Scope 3 emissions that have been included are those that have been practical to measure with available data, which are as follows:
Transmission and Distribution of Electricity
Water Supply and Treatment
This is the first time the company has measured and reported on its carbon emissions and therefore this is the benchmark year, i.e. from August 2022 – July 2023.
