Meet the Team

Robert Marshall started with Marshall Construction at the age of sixteen as an Apprentice Plasterer. He has worked in various positions in the company throughout his adult life and now has the position of Chairman, having taken over the ownership & running of the company in 2001. Robert continued to develop the business and embarked upon an expansion and diversification programme that took the company into areas such as house building, major construction, plant and scaffolding. Roberts astute leadership and guidance has taken Marshall Construction to a turnover of £49 million.

Brian has over 30 years’ experience in the Construction Industry. He is a joiner to trade and has managerial experience in most areas of Construction including Foreman, Site Manager, Project Manager and Senior Contracts Manager culminating in his role as Managing Director of the Company. Brian’s experience will ensure that the Principles of Marshall Construction are maintained and developed. He will ensure that we continue to deliver our existing clients with a Quality product, safely on time and within budget and broaden the company’s portfolio with new clients.

Gordon has over 30 years’ experience in business gained in various sectors including Construction, Retail, Property and Auditing Services. This experience allows him to lead the Company’s Finance and Accounting Strategy by controlling the accounting function to ensure that the systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth. In addition he has financial stewardship over the treasury function, insurances and IT. Gordon’s leisure activities include a keen interest in playing Golf and running to ensure he maintains a high level of fitness.

Derek has been at Marshall Construction for 30 years, gaining a BSc in Quantity Surveying and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He has used his experience to win work, develop and retain a strong client base and support the growth of the General Building Division 6 fold. Prior to joining us he spent 10 years within Local Authority initially training as an analytical estimator, progressing to Chief Estimator which supported 350 operatives within the Direct Labour Organisation. Derek is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and leads a strong team of commercially and customer focused professionals.
