A small collection of bespoke homes is now under construction within a 150-acre expanse of wooded parkland formerly home to a Victorian Convalescence in the Perthshire hills.
At a location famed in the early 20th century for its fresh air and high altitudes, the first release of Athron Hill will consist of 11 contemporary family homes designed by Fraser/Livingstone Architects.
With each home sitting on different aspects of the hill, Fraser/Livingstons has individually planned and designed the properties to respect and enhance their location.
The development, situated north-west of Milnathort and offering views on Loch Leven and the Cleish Hills, is set to launch off-plan in the coming weeks, courtesy of selling agents, Savills, with demand expected to be high.
Marshall Construction was appointed lead contractor as part of a six-figure deal, with a number of local subcontractors appointed, including W&J Groundworks and Claymore Timber Frames.

“Not only will buyers be getting a beautiful family home, they’ll also be able to access the wider site of private woodlands, hillwalking trails, and a community orchard which are all included in our plans.”

Formerly home to Ochil Hills Sanatorium, which opened in 1902, it served the well-to-do classes, charging five guineas a week.
The grounds were added to in the following years, becoming the County Sanatorium for Clackmannan and Stirling, also serving Dunfermline Burgh and Glasgow. It was closed in 1987, and left derelict from around 2001 and before being demolished.
Now, Athron Hill will see it become a location for families to settle, able to enjoy the health-giving surrounds while enjoying high-spec contemporary living.
